Hiya folks! I'm back at it, figuring out my year with regards to my writing, streaming, and you, my excellent supporters!
I hope everyone had a lovely and safe holiday season. We went to Buffalo, NY, to spend time with my husband's family. We were home for New Years, where we went out early for dinner at Dashi, our favorite Japanese restaurant in Durham. They were doing a special omakase meal, which was mindblowing course after course. I don't usually take pictures of food, but I had to get a shot of dessert.
Photo of matcha macaron, salted chocolate truffle, and I forget what the middle one was, but it was awesome.
Then, because we're old and we don't like driving during a traditionally more dangerous night like New Years Eve, we were home by 7pm to watch TV and play Baldur's Gate 3.
This January I'm cutting back on sugar, doing Dry January, and starting intermittent fasting. Traditionally they say you shouldn't have to many things on your list when you want to make a change, but in this case, everything works well together. The fasting keeps me from sugar and alcohol later in the evening, which helps a lot. I've always thought if I quit one vice, I need to lean on the other one - can't quit sugar if I quit wine, etc. So far it's January 10 and I'm still hanging in there.
I have a shockingly busy travel year coming up, here is my schedule:
Boskone - Feb 9-11
FenCon (guest of honor) - Feb 23-25
JoCo Cruise - March 9-17
NASFiC - July 18-21 (currently just attending)
WorldCon - August 8-12 (currently just attending)
Bubonicon (Guest of honor) - August 23-25
As for other things, I will be doing a co-writing session on Wednesday mornings at 10am EST on the Discord. Join us for writing, journaling, or even if you want friendly companionship while you do your day job.
In writing news, I just sent my agent a proposal for a book that will be very exciting if I manage to sell it. I can't tell you any more, obviously, but I will when I can.
In streaming news, I'm trying to get on a Mon-Thursday schedule, with T-Th being I Should Be Writing and M-W being gaming. I am playing an all-bard Baldur's Gate 3 game and dabbling in solo-RPGs.
Here's to 2024. I hope I continue to support you in your creative journeys! If I can help you with anything, let me know!
